¿Cabe?

Will it get in?

Large pieces travel from the street to the room. The planner and the app test each piece through each narrow point you measure.

Measure the way in

Every narrow point, in order

Narrow pointWhat to measureNote
Building or gate doorwidth x height
Elevatordoor width x height, cab width, depth and height
Corridor cornerwidth before and after the turn, headroom
Stairs with a turnwidth before and after the turn, headroom
Front doorwidth x height
Balcony or large windowwidth x heightAnother way in, only if nothing else works

The app adds the door of each room from the measurements of that space, and a packing allowance of 4 cm to every piece by default.

How the route check works

Straight through: the two smaller sides of the wrapped piece must fit the width and height of the opening.

On the diagonal: a piece that is too wide can sometimes pass tilted across the opening. The app tests the exact rectangle-in-rectangle condition for that.

Corners and stair turns: a long piece carried round a corner needs room to swing. The app works out the longest piece of that thickness that turns the corner, carried flat, on its side or on end. In an elevator it also tries the piece tilted inside the cab.

It is a first check. Handrails, door hardware, the slope of a stair and low beams can take more room, so when a result is tight, ask J&M whether it can check on site.

Worked example: a straight sofa 220 x 95 x 85 cm, 4 cm packingResult
A door 85 cm wide, 210 cm highdoes not pass
A door 90 cm wide, 210 cm hightight, straight through, 1 cm to spare
A corridor corner 100 cm then 100 cm, 240 cm ceilingpasses, carried on end

When a piece will not pass

A made-to-measure piece can sometimes be designed to travel: a sofa built in sections that join in the room, a corner sofa that splits at the corner, removable legs or a dining table with a demountable base.

Some homes can take a piece through a balcony or a large window, but that needs ropes, people and the building's permission. The app shows which option would pass; ask J&M which of them it offers.

Moves in apartment buildings

Buildings under propiedad horizontal (Ley 675 de 2001) set their own rules in the reglamento: moving hours, use and protection of the elevator, and notice to the administration.

Ask your administration before the day the pieces arrive and add the rules to the route notes, so they travel with your brief.

When you are ready

Plan your project

Measure the rooms, choose the pieces, check the way in and send the brief on WhatsApp or by email. The design, materials, price and dates are agreed with J&M before anything is built.
